CIBTAC Aesthetics Entry Level

Beauty Therapy

At Level 2, beauty therapy services include make-up application, hair removal by waxing, manicure and pedicure, manual facial services (without using a machine) and lash and brow services (such as tinting and shaping). With these Level 2 skills, a graduate could seek employment in a beauty salon or as a mobile therapist offering these key beauty skills which although “every day” services, are relied on by many customers as essential to their grooming routine.

At Level 3, beauty therapy services offer a progression from Level 2, including body massage, the use of electrotherapy on face and body, for example facial treatment like microdermabrasion, high frequency or lifting treatments and body treatments for muscle toning or cellulite for example.

More advanced services following on from Level 2 skills such as intimate waxing, nail enhancements or more advanced make-up techniques. Many complementary therapies (aromatherapy and reflexology for example) sit at Level 3. These are sought after in beauty salons and spas and may represent the skills of the more senior therapist at one of these businesses. As a mobile or self-employed therapist these additional skills could attract a wider client base and so provide a good progression route once Level 2 has been achieved.
